Why the Confusion?

Why the confusion?
The question echoes inside
My emotions are knotted,
Twisted and turned.
There’s no knowing what’s what,
All a jumbled mess
Intertwined time and time again.
I can’t even
Start to understand myself.
Yet I struggle
To find the answers,
But the confusion deepens
With more knowledge.
I fight against it,
Foolishly I believe that I may win
Even though it isn’t a game,
To be played.
The confusion will remain,
Twisted as in the beginning.
It isn’t something
To be undone.
I can’t comprehend
Why I’m not allowed
To understand.
But the silent rules remain,
All that’s confused and twisted
Will not change.
It’s simply meant to be.
